Here at Om In The Home we practice Holistic Interior Design and incorporate some modern Feng Shui into most of our work. We believe in the importance of good flowing energy to create a balanced life.
Plants have really positive energy (chi) and can help purify the air and also help clear the air of toxins. Plants are totally uplifting and create good energy and support for the environment and the inhabitants of that space as well.
When we design to balance and harmonize an environment, we like to incorporate a whole lot of plants. By adding plants that promote positive chi, you can create a harmonious balanced atmosphere that's good for the body, mind and soul. Using real live plants is a must for bringing in real energy. Forget the silk and artificial ones!
Our living room with a great hanging fern....it really helps filter the air and gets rid of toxins.
How many plants do I need to get good chi?
Having at least 1 plant per room is ideal. More is even better. Not every plant has to be large to create good energy. But having too many plants that you can't maintain could lead to dying plants....and that would create the opposite effect you are looking for. Dying plants would create negative chi. So finding the right balance of what you can keep up with is key to creating a harmonized nurturing space.
Plants that promote positive energy help create a harmonious atmosphere that's good for the body and soul.
